Question 1

What areas does Ga Panther Scapes cover?

Accepted Answer

We're based in Cumming and work across Milton, Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Suwanee, Buford, Dawsonville, Canton, Gainesville and everywhere in between — roughly a 50-mile radius around Cumming. If you're not sure whether you're in range, call and ask.

Question 2

How much does landscaping or lawn maintenance cost?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the size of the property, what's growing on it and what you want done — a weekly mow is priced very differently from a paver patio. What we can promise is a free estimate and a price in writing before any work starts. There's no charge for the walk-through, and no surprise add-ons once we're on the job.

Question 3

What hours are you open?

Accepted Answer

Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Spring fills up fast — March and April are when everyone wants sod, mulch and a sprinkler start-up at once — so call early if you're planning a project for the season.

Question 4

Do you offer any discount?

Accepted Answer

Yes — 15% off for new customers and for anyone referred by a past customer. That applies to a one-off job or the first month of a maintenance schedule. Just mention it when you call.

Question 5

How often should my lawn be mowed?

Accepted Answer

Weekly from about April through October for Bermuda and Zoysia, which is most of the lawns around Cumming and Alpharetta, and every one to two weeks for fescue. Cutting more than a third of the blade at once stresses the grass, so a lawn that's mowed on schedule looks better and needs less recovery than one cut hard every few weeks. Bi-weekly service is available for smaller or slower-growing lawns.

Question 6

Can you fix my existing sprinkler system, or only install new ones?

Accepted Answer

Both. Most of our irrigation calls are repairs — a head the mower took out, a zone that won't come on, a leak that's showing up on the water bill, a controller nobody can program. We'll find the problem, fix it with matching parts and tune the rest of the system while we're there. Spring start-ups and fall winterizations are available too.

Question 7

Do I need HOA approval for a fence?

Accepted Answer

In most subdivisions around north Georgia, yes — the HOA usually has rules on fence height, style, material and which side the finished face goes on. We check the covenants and the survey before we quote, build to what's allowed, and can provide the drawings and specs your HOA application needs.

Question 8

What's the difference between landscaping and hardscaping?

Accepted Answer

Landscaping is the living part of the yard — lawn, trees, shrubs, beds and flowers. Hardscaping is the built part — paver patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, fire pits and drainage. Most projects involve some of each, and we do both, so one crew handles the whole job.

Question 9

Will pavers or a retaining wall hold up in Georgia clay?

Accepted Answer

They will if the base is right. Red clay holds water and moves as it swells and dries, which is why a patio laid straight on the ground heaves and a wall built without drainage leans. We excavate the clay, compact a gravel base, set drainage behind every wall and use edge restraint on every patio. That's the part you never see, and it's the reason the job lasts.

Question 10

Do you take care of flower beds and gardens, not just the lawn?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Gardening is one of our six services — flower beds, seasonal color swapped in spring and fall, raised vegetable beds, containers, and the weeding, feeding and deadheading that keeps them looking good. If you'd rather keep mowing your own lawn and just hand off the beds, we're glad to do that.
